Springfield Police Respond to Fight

SPRINGFIELD, VT — At 10:56 a.m., Oct. 29, Officers Guzzo and Foucher of the Springfield Police Department were dispatched to 61 Furnace Street for a report of two males having an altercation. Officers Foucher and Guzzo responded to this incident.

After an investigation it was found that the defendant, Timothy George, had allegedly assaulted the victim.

George was fingerprinted, photographed and issued a criminal citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit located in White River Junction, at 12:30 p.m., Oct. 30, to answer to the charge of 1st Degree Aggravated Domestic Assault.

George was held at the Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash or surety bail.

Release Violation

On October 17, 2023, at approximately 5:00 a.m. Officer Guzzo was dispatched to respond to a report of a neighbor at the end of Reed Street blaring music.

Upon further investigation, it was found that Gregory Welch was allegedly in violation of his conditions of release.

On October 21, 2023, Welch was issued a criminal citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit location in White River Junction, Vermont on November 28, 2023, at 8:00 a.m. to answer to the charge of Violation of Conditions of Release.
