NEW LONDON, NH — The Center for the Arts has announced the December First Friday presentation of The North Country VoxStars holiday concert. On Friday, Dec. 1, the all-gender barbershop style chorus will sing a mixture of barbershop and contemporary a cappella holiday arrangements. This concert will take place at The Black Box Theater on the campus of Colby-Sawyer College from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The Colby-Sawyer Gallery will be open to the public before and after this event, as well.
The North Country VoxStars is a new mixed-gender chorus based in Hanover and a chapter of the Northeastern District of the International Barbershop Harmony Society, along with the North Country Chordsmen. They focus on a tight four-part harmony singing songs of all genres. This Dec. 1 concert will focus on holiday selections, perfect for all ages to enjoy.
“We are thrilled to offer this event to the community around the holidays. The NorthCountry VoxStars women ensemble recently received high acclaim coming in at fifth place at a recent Northeastern District Convention and we couldn’t be more happy for them. This talented, all-gender ensemble is a great way to celebrate the holidays for all ages,” said Executive Director Dena Stahlheber.
The Center for the Arts celebrates the First Friday of every month with a different arts event including theater season previews, gallery strolls and concerts. The full list is available on the website. First Fridays are free and open to the public.
