June C. (Peno) Burr

June C. (Peno) Burr CLAREMONT, NH -June Claire (Peno) Burr, 91, of Claremont, NH passed away peacefully on December 3, 2023. She was born in Claremont on June 17, 1932, the daughter of the late Arthur “Babe” and Viola (Tardiff) Peno and resided all of her life in Claremont. June worked as a bookkeeper for Grand Union Grocery Store for 26 years, at the Claremont Savings Bank as a switch board operator, Sturm Ruger and Dolittle Print as well as Green Meadows Restaurant as a waitress. She was a volunteer for the Red Cross, a member of the Claremont Senior Center and parishioner of St. Mary’s Church in Claremont. She was an avid crafter, quilter and baker, making many special occasion cakes and treats for family and friends. She is survived by her four children, Darlene (Burr) Blair and her husband Robert of Las Vegas, NV, Bryan Burr and his wife Cindy of Unity, NH, Wendy (Burr) Jordan and her husband Jeff of Riverton, IL and Briget (Burr) Stronge and her husband Bill of Monroe, CT ; her grandsons, Yancy Sischo, Shane Sischo, Wyatt Gallagher and Nicholas Burr, her granddaughters’ Emma Stronge, Jenna Jordan, Kaylee St. Pierre, Holly Hewes and Heidi Neuhausser, as well as several great grandchildren and her sister, Barbara (Peno) Smith. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Theodore (Ted) Burr of 43 years, her parents Arthur and Viola Peno, her son Rodney Burr, her sister Phyllis Peno, and sister Charlene Provencal. Calling hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont on Friday morning, December 8th, from 9:30 to 10:30AM. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at St Joseph Church, at 11 AM. Burial will be held in the spring in the Ascutney Cemetery in Windsor, Vermont.
