Individual Open Enrollment Period for NH PFML is now through Jan. 29

CONCORD, NH — The State of New Hampshire is reminding individuals that the annual open enrollment period for individual workers to purchase New Hampshire Paid Family and Medical Leave (NH PFML) begins Dec. 1, and runs through Jan. 29, 2024.

NH PFML safeguards a worker’s income by providing wage replacement insurance benefits when they need time away from work to care for themselves or a family member. Coverage is available through MetLife, the state’s partner for administering NH PFML.

Every year starting Dec. 1, NH PFML kicks off a 60-day open enrollment period for NH workers interested in purchasing individual coverage. NH PFML insurance plans are available to individuals who work in NH and do not have similar benefits available through their employer. Premiums for individual NH PFML coverage are capped at $5 per week.

“At a low-cost of no more than $5 per week, New Hampshire’s Paid Family Medical leave plan provides Granite State families with peace of mind,” said Gov. Chris Sununu. “The voluntary, low-cost plan is available to all who want it, making it the perfect tool for employers to recruit and retain workforce in a competitive environment.”

To learn more, individuals should go to paidleave.nh.gov. Beginning Dec. 1, individuals can request a quote by calling the MetLife Customer Solution Center at 1-866-595-PFML (7365).
