WALPOLE, NH — A two-alarm structure fire consumed a building under reconstruction at 105 Brewery Road on Sunday morning, Dec. 10.
Nanka Robinson said cats, Phen and Ender, died in the fire.
“Our family purchased that project back in August, and we’ve been finishing the inside of the house,” said Robinson. “It was move-in ready. We have no idea what happened. Everything we owned was in the house, including our cats. Everything is gone. We brought Phen and Ender back from overseas last year from Armenia and brought them with us.”
The fire was called into the Walpole Fire Department at 5:37 a.m. on Sunday, and at 10:16 a.m., the incident cleared.
“It was a 2.5 story wood frame home,” said Station Captain Richard Hurlburt said. “Four engines and six tankers responded from Bellows Falls, Westminister, Walpole and Westmorland.”
There were 35 people who responded to the fire.
Hurlburt said the fire’s cause is unknown, and the property’s insurance company will investigate what caused the loss.
