School buses are vandalized again in Newport

Eagle Times Staff
NEWPORT, NH — Newport School District Superintendent Donna Magoon released a social media post informing residents that school buses were vandalized and spray painted, advising people with information to contact Officer Cody Foster with information.

“Vandalism is a serious crime that affects us all, and we must come together as a community to condemn such actions,” wrote Magoon. “We are confident with your support, we can send a clear message that this behavior will not be tolerated in Newport.”

The Newport Police Department Sheriff’s Office released a statement confirming they are investigating another incident of vandalism involving Newport School District buses occurring overnight from Thursday, Dec. 7, into Friday, Dec. 8.

“We are actively working to determine if that incident is related to the previous vandalism incident at the school bus garage and the previous incidents of graffiti around town,” said Newport Police Chief Alex Lee said. “For that reason, I am going to respectfully decline to provide additional details about the nature of the vandalism at this time.”

Officer Cody Foster can be reached at 603-863-3232 or via email at [email protected].
