WESTMINSTER, VT.— The Interstate 91 bridge crossing over Saxtons River continues to be under construction in Westminster.
On the Interstate, northbound traffic has been diverted onto the southbound barrel making all southbound traffic limited to the right-hand lane of travel on I-91 South.
A speed reduction of 55 mph is in place on I-91 within the project area.
Fines are doubled for speeding within the construction zone.
Vermont Route 121, which passes under the bridge, continues to be reduced to one lane of traffic controlled by temporary traffic signals.
On the Interstate, the contractor is beginning the removal of the existing concrete deck on the northbound bridge, a task that is expected to continue into next week.
Crews will also be installing demolition containment measures under the bridge throughout the week.
