CLAREMONT, NH — The City Council thanked outgoing councilors Matthew Mooshian, Jonathan Stone and James Contois during the Wednesday, Dec. 13, meeting. Mayor Dale Girard presented awards to the councilors, starting with Contois, who was unable to attend the meeting.

“Councilor Contois apologizes for not being able to attend his last meeting,” said Girard. “Councilor Contois has been us for the last four years as councilor and also participated in the conservation and the historic districts.”

Contois was unable to attend due to a recent surgery, but in a written statement, thanked his constituents from Ward II and across the city and wrote, “he is not going away.”

Girard said Mooshian had “some great moments” while serving the City of Claremont and thanked him for his service.

“We appreciate the time you’ve spent on the CCTV board,” Girard said.

Stone was thanked for his six years as Ward III Councilor and noted that he spent a lot of time working on the policy committee.

“Thank you for all your time and service,” Girard said.
