River Valley Community College
Claremont, NH — Tears of joy and relief streamed down the faces of several graduates as they crossed the stage during River Valley Community College’s recent December Commencement ceremony. Marking the college’s 55th graduation, this year the college added all December graduates which included practical nurses, registered nurses as well as early childhood education, liberal arts, criminal justice, business management, accounting, massage therapy and social services students.
The processional kicked off to the sound of Scotland of the Brave and included President Alfred Williams, Vice Chancellor, Chuck Lloyd, Community College System of New Hampshire board member Richard Ackerman, as well as faculty and graduates.
As they took their seats in the Falcon room of River Valley’s Claremont campus, students listened to President Williams describe the ceremony as an important milestone in their education where we come together to recognize graduate’s achievements and mark their success with family, friends, faculty and staff at River Valley Community College. President Williams’ message was clear. River Valley Community College graduates are in high demand. He reminded them that they have so many opportunities in front of them and to take pride in the hard work it took to accomplish their goals.
Representing the Community College System of New Hampshire Board of Trustees, Ackerman told the graduates that they are the reason that the Trustees serve. He continued by stating that students’ hard work, ambition and achievements inspire them to do their work at the state level.
Finally, Ackerman expressed his pride and gratitude for the graduating class who will go on to make a difference in the lives of many in their community and the State of New Hampshire.
