HANOVER, NH — After leading the Big Green with 16 points in a hard-fought 57-55 loss to Lafayette, Nina Minicozzi of the Dartmouth women’s basketball team was named the Ivy League Rookie of the Week. Tuesday’s announcement, Dec. 27, gave the Big Green their first Ivy League weekly award since Katie Douglas earned Rookie of the Week on Feb. 25, 2019.
Minicozzi was instrumental in Dartmouth nearly erasing a 16-point deficit against the Leopards on Education Day. The Belmont, MA, native scored 10 points in the second half, including a buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of the third quarter, to help the Big Green eventually climb within one possession. Her 16-point effort was three shy of matching her career high, which was set in a victory over Navy on Friday, Dec. 8.
In addition to her 16 points, Minicozzi also grabbed 5 rebounds and added 4 assists. She has scored in double figures in five games this season and gave Dartmouth its first double-double since 2021-22 with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the home opener against Siena.
The Big Green’s five-game homestand continues Saturday, Jan. 6, as Brown visits for the Ivy League opener. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. and the game will air live on ESPN+. Single-game and season tickets are available through the Dartmouth Athletics Ticket Office at 603-646-2466.
