Beverly C. Richmond CLAREMONT, VT -Beverly Corinne Richmond, 93, was born in Springfield, MA on October 20, 1930. She entered Heaven’s gates on January 6, 2024. Her early years were spent in Brattleboro, VT before moving to Claremont in 1940 where she started the fifth grade. Bev was a graduate of Stevens High School, Claremont, NH class of 1948 and Northampton Commercial Junior College in Northampton, MA class of 1950. As a young mother, she was also the bookkeeper for her husband at J. H. Richmond’s Garage, later she worked at King’s and Ames Department Stores. For 27 years she served as Secretary for Maple Avenue Elementary School. For more than ten years she was a 4-H leader. Beverly enjoyed going to concerts, sewing, crafts and visiting with family, friends and had an unwavering faith in God. She was a member of Union Episcopal Church. Her Church kept her busy as the treasurer and member of the Ladies Guild, church choir and the Episcopal Church Women. She helped visitors find gravestones and family histories associated with the church. She was involved in West Claremont Center for the Arts which is organized and administered by her granddaughter, Melissa Richmond. Beverly was predeceased by her loving husband, James H. Richmond in 1964. Her husband built the house she lived in for over 70 years with wood from the Richmond farmland. Beverly is survived by her son Daniel and his wife Ann of Claremont and daughter Nancy and husband David Kelso of Candia, NH. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kevin Kelso, Brian Kelso, Melissa Richmond, James Richmond and Kristen Zeuge. She had six grandchildren, Samuel, Jaxon, Theresa and Evan Kelso, Cora and Erica Zeuge. The family wishes to thank Sullivan County Health Care who cared for Beverly for the last four years. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at Union Episcopal Church, Old Plains Road, Claremont, NH on Saturday, afternoon January 13th at 2PM. Burial will follow across the street at the West Claremont Burial Grounds. A reception will follow at the Church Hall.
