CLAREMONT, NH — Senior Stevens Cardinal Kiley Bundy has been a very special player ever since her recreational basketball days at the Claremont Savings Bank Community Center. If Bundy was on a team, the odds were that her team was going to win the championship or a tournament title. In all respects of her game, she’s that good.
So it comes as no surprise that Bundy has officially committed to Keene State College; it’s been in the works for a while now. Not only does this give Bundy an opportunity to play at the next level but most importantly, it allows her to play close to home. She has a very tight knit relationship with her family including her father, Bill, her mother, Tracy, and her brother, Zack.
“I chose Keene state because I feel as it is the best fit for me,” said Bundy. “I’ve talked with the coaching staff and some of the players and it really is a great program. The journey has been hard but very rewarding. Wouldn’t have been possible without my family, especially my dad, he made everything possible. Also, my recent AAU coach Eric Fazio has really helped my game. I’m looking for a good career at Keene and excited for my family to continue to watch me play. I’m pretty excited.”
Bundy has been able to improve her high school game under the coaching of Ivy and Stephen Condon at Stevens High School. Ivy coached Bundy on her own AAU program before coaching her in high school with her husband Stephen, who took over as head coach when Ivy went on maternity leave.
“We’ve been watching Kiley play basketball since her rec days and know the time she has put in with her going to the gym to work on her shooting and dribbling at a young age to playing AAU,” said Ivy Condon. “We knew she was going to special; she was our starting point guard as a freshman and has been ever since. We love the passion Kiley has for the game and we are so thrilled she will continue to play and grow her game at Keene State next year.”
Bundy has also been coached by New England Jayhawks coach Eric Fazio, who is also an assistant coach at Keene State, for the past two years in the off seasons. He runs an AAU program with some of the best talent in the area including recent 1,000 scorer Macie Stagner from Springfield, VT.
“I’m extremely proud of Kiley and to see all of her hard work and dedication to the game of basketball pay off,” said Fazio. “Keene state is getting a tremendous player and I cannot wait to watch her excel on the court for the next four years.”
