On Monday, Oct. 2, 2023, Officer Guzzo spoke with a female in the lobby of the Springfield Police Department regarding the defendant, Jonathan Peraza, allegedly violating his conditions of release. After an investigation, it was found that Peraza allegedly violated those conditions of release by attempting third party contact with the female from the lobby.

Peraza was later taken into custody without incident and cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on Nov. 11, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. to answer the charge.

Assault, possession of brass knuckles

On Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023, at approximately 7:32 a.m., Officers Kelcey, Morey and Freeman, Sergeant Fitzgibbons, Lt. DesLauriers and Chief Burnham, responded to a report of a disturbance on Valley Street. Investigation revealed that Donald Markwell, 32, had allegedly assaulted a household member.

While in custody, Markwell allegedly destroyed property belonging to the Town of Springfield. He additionally was alleged to be in possession of brass knuckles. Markwell was cited to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2023, to answer to the alleged charges of domestic assault, disorderly conduct, unlawful mischief and possession of brass knuckles.

Woman assaults boyfriend, then hides cell

On Monday, Nov. 3, 2023, Officer Perkins was dispatched to 147 Wall Street for a report of an alleged domestic assault. Upon arrival, the investigation revealed that Tammy Getty had allegedly assaulted her boyfriend, who she shares a residence with, and then hid their cell phone, preventing the ability for him to call the police.

Getty was arrested without incident and transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing and issued a flash citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit, on Monday, Nov. 6, at 12:30 p.m. to answer to the charges of domestic assault and interference to access with emergency services.

Man arrested for yelling at, chasing bicyclists

On Monday, Nov. 3, 2023, at approximately 3:48 p.m. Officers Singleton, Franchi and Foucher were dispatched to the area of Main Street for the report of a male that was yelling and chasing bicyclists.

After an investigation it was found that the defendant, Devin Pratt, was allegedly acting in a disorderly and aggressive manner.

Pratt was issued a criminal citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on Nov. 3, 2023, to answer the alleged charge of disorderly conduct. Devin was subsequently lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $200 cash or surety bail.

Tip jar stolen from Domino’s Pizza

On Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, at approximately 8:13 p.m., Corporal Perkins and Officers Franchi and Singleton were dispatched to River Street for the report of a male that had stolen money from Domino’s Pizza in Springfield Plaza.

After an investigation it was found that the defendant, Devin Pratt, allegedly stole tip money from the front counter area of Domino’s Pizza.

Pratt was located and taken into custody, issued a criminal citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, to answer the charge of petit larceny and resisting arrest. He was subsequently lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of $200 cash or surety bail.

Car break-in bandit caught stealing purse

On Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2023, Officers Franchi, Morey, Kelcey, Freeman and Perkins responded to reports of a male attempting to get into cars, confronting people and attempting to steal a purse from an occupied vehicle.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the defendant, Devin Pratt, allegedly entered into an occupied motor vehicle that was not his and attempted to steal a purse. It was also determined Pratt allegedly approached a male and demanded the male hand over a phone that he believed to be a firearm.

Pratt was taken into custody, transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing and issued a criminal citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, at the Windsor Unit, on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. to answer the alleged charges of larceny from a person and disorderly conduct. He was then transported to Southern State Correctional Facility where he was lodged on bail.

Man arrested on warrant

On Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, Officers Franchi and Singleton apprehended Brandon Heist inside of 107 Park Street on an alleged warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody without incident, transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing and issued a criminal citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. to answer the alleged charge of arrest on an in-state warrant.

Heist was then transported to Southern State Correctional Facility where he was lodged on bail.

Man walks into occupied home; fight ensues

On Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023, at approximately 1:47 p.m. the Springfield Police Department dispatch received a call reporting a fight in progress at 111 Main Street; Officers Guzzo and Foucher responded.

It was found that Marrero allegedly trespassed into an occupied dwelling.

Marrero was fingerprinted, photographed, issued conditions of release and a criminal citation to appear in Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit located in White River Junction on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, at 12:30 p.m. to answer to the charge of unlawful trespass of an occupied dwelling.

Man arrested for known warrant

On Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, at approximately 3:55 p.m., Martin Gonyea was located in a residence on Union Street with an active in-state warrant.

After an investigation, Gonyea was also found to be in possession of a felony amount of heroin.

Gonyea was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Springfield Police Department for processing and issued a criminal citation to appear in Windham County Criminal Court on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, to answer the alleged charge of arrest on an in-state warrant.

He was cited for the possession of heroin at a later date. Gonyea was subsequently lodged at the Southern State Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.
