CLAREMONT, NH — Valley Regional Hospital (VRH) has been serving the health care needs of the Greater Claremont community since 1893. Evolving with the needs of the community, the hospital has grown from a humble cottage hospital to a modern health care facility. As a nonprofit Critical Access Hospital, VRH collaborates and partners with larger institutions for additional resources and tools, to provide the community with top-notch and accessible care when it’s needed the most.
VRH is home to emergency and urgent care services, comprehensive rehabilitation services, along with a wide variety of specialty care services including surgical treatment, infusion therapy and oncology care for patients with cancer. The Medical Surgical Unit offers 21 private suites with another 4 to 5 bed progressive care capacity for patients requiring a higher level of care. In addition, the hospital offers primary care for the needs of every member of the family, preventative screening for colon and breast health, mental health care, as well as more focused treatments for the aging population.
The team cares about the Greater Claremont community, patients and employees, and continues to develop a culture where compassion, accountability, respect, excellence and service are the guiding principles of the environment in which they work. As a smaller facility, VRH offers a hometown touch with all services, which allows the nursing team to get to know their patients and their preferences, ultimately providing a unique care experience in which the community can trust. Nurses can seek advice and support from their nursing leadership team and provide feedback to improve services. Patients can truly make a difference in the community. The care does not stop at their patients as they know it is important to care for their team, as well.
Valley Regional strives to provide the best resources, nursing ratios, and wellness activities so their team shows up ready and focused on the care of their patients. The institution offers extensive benefits and wellness initiatives including up to $300/year to use toward something enjoyable (ski pass, massage, fitness class, etc.) and up to $300/ year on the health insurance’s fitness reimbursement (gym memberships, online memberships including Peloton®, and diet programs including weight watchers). In addition, VRH offers guided group paint nights and craft nights, plus so much more including an all-new fitness and wellness center coming in 2024.
