Madeline F. Davis

Madeline F. Davis NEWPORT, NH -Madeline F. Davis, 91, passed away peacefully at her home on January 11, 2024. She was born on August 30, 1932 in Orford, NH to the late Raymond and Goldie (Flint) Boutwell. Madeline was raised in Newport and spent her entire life in the area. She graduated from Towle High School with the class of 1951. She married Howard Davis and they shared more than 60 years together before he died in 2012. Together, they raised 6 children. Madeline loved raising her children and then loved taking care of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, plastic canvas, knitting, crocheting and she liked an occasional trip to Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun. Madeline was able to ride on a motorcycle on her 88th birthday and had a great time. She was famous for her filled sugar cookies and doughnuts which her family would regularly request she make. She was a wonderful matriarch and always loved and worried about her entire family. She will be dearly missed. Madeline was predeceased by her husband, Howard Davis in 2012; daughter, Lori Campney in 2021; son in law, Keith Perry in 2015; and by all of her siblings, Francis Boutwell, John Boutwell, Maxine Hurd, Doris Bannister, Lula Durgin, Sheila Spaulding, Shirley Boutwell, Jeffery Boutwell, and Joyce Collins. Surviving family members include her children, Larry Davis and his wife, Alice, of Unity, Dexter Davis and his wife, Diane, of Newport, Shirley Davis of Newport, Deborah Dufour and her husband, Billy, of Newport, Sandra Davis and her partner, Bob, of Claremont, 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, with 2 more on the way, and many extended family members. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lake Sunapee VNA and Hospice, P.O. Box 2209, New London, NH 03257. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 1 PM at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport. A reception will follow at the Foresters Club at 38 Maple St., Newport. Newton-Bartlett Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
