Janet L. (Blair) Perry LEMPSTER, NH -On a quiet, chilly day, on white covered mountains, in a small town, Janet Lee (Blair) Perry passed away in the home she always wanted. As her spirit ascended to the heavens, and her children and grandchildren started to gather to be with her husband, their father and grandfather, David George Perry I, a gentle snow began to fall. She would have been so happy to see the family with love and comfort come together, if even for a moment, on such a beautiful winter day in New England. Janet was born to, and predeceased by, Wallace “Wally” G. Blair and Alva J. Davis in Malone, New York on March 19, 1953. Moving to Granby, CT, in 1961, Wallace and Alva would go on to have 11 children. Janet will be reunited with her brother Richard Blair and Sister Marilyn (Blair) Parmelee. Growing up fast, she learned at an early age to take care of others, and there was always enough love and space in any home for more family. Staying in Connecticut, she and David started their own family in Tariffville. There, they would have three children, David G. Perry II, April R. (Perry) Seidman and Kevin R. Perry, before settling in East Granby for more than 20 years. While in East Granby, if there was someone in need of a roof over their head, they were more than welcome to share in what little they had. Friends, family and the occasional stranger were always welcome. She felt everyone should be loved by someone. There was nothing Janet and Dave wouldn’t do for someone to feel loved. In 2013, Janet and Dave were able to retire to a small community in Lempster, New Hampshire. There, they found a peaceful piece of property within the hills and trees. Later in life, she found a circle of friends and neighbors that she could have lived among her whole life. Playing games, building parade floats, hosting craft nights, and becoming involved in the Library Association, Janet loved this community as she did her own family. Janet’s love for David was true from the start. Passing baby pictures of his children, David, her husband of 52 years, pulled out Janet’s graduation picture from his wallet. On the back, a private message. She knew then, as she did on the day of her passing, that David was the love of her life, and she was no doubt the love of his. Anyone who has ever met Janet and David, instantly know they were meant for each other. They were never apart, you cannot think of one without thinking of them as a couple. Janet is survived by her loving husband, three children, and current and future daughter in laws, Jodi (Engelmann) Perry and Andrea Millette. Her strength will be missed by her 7 grandchildren Morgan, Samantha, Danielle, Julian, Analeigh, Kevin and Maddox. Her fight for family will be remembered by 9 brothers and sisters, their spouses and so many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. Her co-workers from Geissler’s Supermarket of over 26 years will remember her as hard working and honest. Anyone that knows Janet knew that she cared about them, each in their own way. Visiting hours will take place at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad St, Claremont, NH 03743 on Saturday, January 27th from 1-3pm. A celebration of life will take place in Granby, CT at a later date.
