CLAREMONT, N.H. — Looking for something to do tonight for Valentine’s Day, but not quite sure what? Try baking some pupcakes together for your fur baby using dog-friendly ingredients found right in the cupboard. Add in some delicious honey and your pooch will feel the love this Feb. 14.

PEANUT BUTTER PUPCAKES

Start to finish: 30 minutes

Servings: Makes 6 cupcakes

For cakes:

1 egg

1/4 cup dog-friendly peanut butter

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

1 teaspoon vanilla

1/4 cup honey

1 cup whole wheat flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

For frosting:

1/4 cup naturally sweetened yogurt

For toppings:

1/4 cup dry dog food or Cheerios

Preheat oven to 350 F. Line a 6-cup muffin tin with cupcake liners and set aside.

In a medium bowl, mix the egg, peanut butter, applesauce, vanilla and honey. Add the flour and baking soda and mix well. The dough will be stiff and sticky.

Spoon mixture evenly into the muffin tin.

Bake for 18-20 minutes until cupcakes are brown on the top. Allow to cool. Ice cakes with yogurt and top with dry dog food or Cheerios.
