Raymond W. Limoges

Raymond W. Limoges LOUDON, NH -On February 23, 2024 the bright twinkle in his blue eyes and loving smile faded and the sounds of Ray’s contagious laughter, quick wit, sarcasm, and sound advice were silenced as he went home to be with his beloved Jesus. The youngest of five children, he was born on September 18, 1943, in Claremont NH to Irene (Lambert) and William Limoges. In 1981, he married his “sweetheart”, Mary (Witkop), and together they have been the truest example of a real-life love story. Ray’s family meant everything to him, and he loved each of them unconditionally. He could be found supporting his children in all of their numerous activities, chaperoning Youth Ministry activities, and simply having fun with his kids and grandkids. Ray graduated from St Mary’s High School in Claremont (class of 1961). He then attended St. Francis College, completed his Bachelor’s Degree at NH College, and furthered his studies toward an MBA at Southern NH University. He worked for many years in business finance and computer services before founding Acceptance Leasing in 1988. After retirement, Ray thoroughly enjoyed pursuing his talents doing home repairs and remodeling projects for family and friends and fixing almost anything that was broken. He also enjoyed photography and creating videos for family, friends, and his parish community. A man of deep Christian faith and prayer, he was an active member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Concord. He was heavily involved in Youth Ministry and Religious Education, the Social Committee, Master of Ceremonies for the Annual Senior Day festivities, participated in Men’s Prayer Group and team member for the construction of the Padre Pio Adoration Chapel, as well as a variety of services to his parish and community. His IHM family and close friends meant so much to him and have been such a blessing throughout his illness. He was also an active member of the NH Cursillo Movement, living out the motto “Make a Friend, Be a Friend, Bring a Friend to Christ.” He valued the time shared with his close friends in Cursillo and visibly wore his Cursillo Cross, in his own words, “as a reminder to me about who I am supposed to be.” Ray and his wife Mary shared 43 years together and welcomed three children: Katie (Tayo) Atoro, Zachary (Chelsea Corr-) Limoges, and Aaron (Caitlin) Limoges. The family grew as four grandchildren were welcomed: Gideon and Levi Atoro, Nolan Limoges, and Sophie Limoges. Mary’s college roommate, Mae Marchand, was a life-long, close family member who assisted with Ray’s care during his illness. Survived by his first wife, Janet Ross, they share two children: Norman Limoges and Denise Kirk, and six grandsons: Joshua (Noelle) Limoges, Steven, Ethan and Spencer (Diamond Weeks) Limoges, Christopher and Ryan Kirk, and two great granddaughters, Mercedes and Madeline Weeks-Limoges. He is survived by his oldest brother Norman (Marie) Limoges, his sisters-in-law Marina, Sylvia and Colleen Limoges and Sue Flemming, Jeanette Gilmartin, Jane Sullivan, brother-in-law, Gerald Witkop, Jr., and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents, sister Pauline and brother-in-law Galen (Spike) Veayo, brothers Donald and Richard Limoges, son-in-law Alan Kirk, sister and brother-in-law Josephine (Francis) Seddon, sisters-in-law Eileen Witkop, Kathleen Butler, brother-in-law James Gilmartin and close family friend Rita Marchand. We are at peace, knowing he is welcomed home by these family and friends. Ray had the uncanny ability to bring joy to any situation, even difficult ones. In his honor, please share kindness in an unexpected way. We will miss him endlessly, but these acts of joy and love are his legacy. Memorial visiting hours will be held on Friday, March 1st from 4-6:00 pm at Waters Funeral Home in Concord, and a Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 2nd at 11:00 am at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Concord. If you are unable to attend the funeral mass you can livestream on the following links Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/ihmnh/ Or YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8k6IHvjPrEePEdofgoA6ng/ In lieu of flowers, Ray would love to support the Friendly Kitchen, 2 S. Commercial St. Concord NH 03301, to feed the hungry, or the Immaculate Heart of Mary Youth Ministry, 180 Loudon Rd, Concord NH 03301, to feed the soul.
