NEWPORT, N.H. — Now is the time to share your experiences and concerns about your health care. Every three years, New London Hospital and Newport Health Center conduct a Community Health Needs Assessment that includes a Community Health survey that will be made available digitally, as well as on paper.
We will have paper copies of this survey at Newport Senior Center/Sullivan County Nutrition Services. Your input in the process is essential in the design of initiatives of New London Hospital and Newport Health Center for the next several years. Your responses are private. The summary of responses from the community will be included in a final report of the survey results to be made available later this year.
We invite you to join us, at the Newport Senior Center, to complete the survey and ask questions on March 14, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you are 60 or older, join us for lunch after or before completing the survey.
The meal for Thursday, March 14, will be meatloaf, mashed potato, sugar snap peas and chocolate cake with peanut butter frosting. The suggested donation is $3 a meal. This is one of our most requested meals.
Now is the time to have your voice heard. We are interested to hear from all the towns in service areas which include: Andover, Bradford, Croydon, Danbury, Goshen, Grantham, Lempster, New London, Newbury, Newport, Springfield, Sunapee, Sutton, Washington and Wilmot.
Taking learning to a new level that will be stimulating. LSVNA and New London Barn Playhouse will be providing a communications workshop series for those who care for loved ones with Alzheimer’s and dementia. Caregiving for someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia can be overwhelming, lonely and extremely difficult.
The New London Barn Playhouse and Lake Sunapee Region VNA & Hospice are supported in part by a grant from the New Hampshire State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts to offer free monthly events that connect caregivers going through similar situations and help them navigate different circumstances.
The sessions combine insights from health care professionals with improvised scenarios where actors navigate common caregiving situations onstage. The series aims to help caregivers develop new communication skills, strategies to cope with stress, flexibility in relationships and an understanding of loved ones’ changing perspectives. Attendees are welcome to participate in discussions and scenarios, or they may remain an observer.
Mark your calendars now for this valuable opportunity to help learn helpful strategies when caring for someone with Alzheimer’s or dementia. We are honored to have LSVNA and New London Barn Playhouse on April 10, from 10 to 11:30 am.
As your daily newspaper, we are committed to providing you with important local news coverage for Sullivan County and the surrounding areas.
