Gerry A. Kistner

Gerry A. Kistner UNITY, NH -Gerry Angelo Kistner- Ret. Army SFC, loving husband, caring father, grandfather and unwavering friend– passed away on April 6, 2024 at the age of 61 (or as he would undoubtedly preach: 29 years old) in Unity, NH. Gerry was born to Francis Haberkorn & Arlene Kistner on July 30, 1962 in Kingsville, TX. Gerry’s life had taken him all across the country, setting his roots from the midwest of Texas, to Oregon and Long Island NY, to finally settling in and buying a house in Unity, NH. Gerry enjoyed spending time with his family, taking long rides with his wife Jennifer, cruising across the country, going out on deployment with his soldiers, working around the house, and playing with his chocolate lab, Winnie. Gerry has had a very lengthy career in the military starting in 1980 in the United States Marines for 6 years. Then he went on to enlist in the United States Army, where he was in the infantry as Active Duty for a few years. He then transferred to the Military Police corp–this is where he found his calling–where he spent the rest of his 23+ years and retired from the Military police. Gerry was preceded in death by his parents Frank Hayberkorn & Arlene Kistner, as well as his brother Anthony and Stepmom Georgia Haberkorn. He is survived by his wife, Jennifer Kistner. Sisters, Barbara, Angela, and Blayne. Children, Cheyenne, Gerard “Bud”, Ashley, Emily, Ayden, Christopher, Matthew, Rachel, Michael, and Hannah. Grandchildren, Sophia, Autumn, Benjamin, Kasidy, and Aubrie. In his memory, donations can be made out to an organization that has provided aid and support through his career in the U.S. Army to himself and many of his fellow soldiers. The Wounded Warrior Project. Visiting hours will be held at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad St, Claremont, NH on Tuesday, April 16th from 3 to 6pm. The funeral will be on the following day- Wednesday, April 17th at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery (110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH 03303) at 2pm.
