CASTLETON, Vt. — The Bellows Falls Terriers advanced to the Division 3 State Softball Championship at Castleton University with a 9-5 win over the Thetford Academy Panthers. It will be the first time since 1974 when they lost to Springfield 9 to 2 in the first-ever Vermont Softball Championship Game. They will play the undefeated and 3-time straight champions, the Oxbow Olympians.
Thetford jumped out to an early lead 2-0 in the first inning. The Terriers had a massive second inning scoring all their nine total runs. The Panthers added three in the fifth inning to make it interesting. Izzy Stoodley went the distance in the circle for the win while McKayla Stanley took the loss.
