John G. Wallace

John G. Wallace CORNISH, NH –John Gardner Wallace passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday May 28, 2024. He was 95 years old. John was born on April 29, 1929 in Cornish NH to his loving parents Celia (Ormsby) and Royal Wallace. He is survived by his daughter Barbara Cooper Bey and her husband Andre of St. Cloud, Florida, daughter Terry Wallace and her partner Debra Bell of St. Cloud, Florida, daughter Janet Osgood and her husband Kurt Osgood of Unity, son John Wallace of Pittsfield, Massachusetts, son Barry Wallace and his wife Lisa of Claremont NH, and son James Wallace and his wife Dina of St. Cloud, Florida; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. He met and married the love of his life Lucille (Champagne) in 1950. Together they built a beautiful family. They were true partners and role models to their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. “All you need in life is your health and your family.” In 1983 they bought and spent many years perfecting “the farm.” It became a place of many family gatherings, happy memories and hard work. John enjoyed tending to the animals, fields and gardens. After retiring John and Lucy moved to St Cloud Florida. This became a place where all the family was welcome to come and stay. Take a walk along the Lake shore, ride out to see the manatees or spend a day at Old Towne. Enjoying the simple things in life was most important. Nilla wafers after dinner, a burger on a Saturday night or a “gedunk.” He loved his family more than anything. A wonderful father and grandfather. Words cannot express the impact he had on his family and the legacy he left behind. Caring, kind and accepting, all with a bit of mischief in his eyes. Five years after Lucy passed on it was time for him to join her. “Jesus John, what took you so long.” Visiting hours will be on Friday July 19th at Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont from 5-7pm. A funeral service will be held on Saturday morning July 20 at 11am. Burial will follow at the West Claremont Burying Grounds
