Glenn P. Hawkins SPRINGFIELD, NH –Glenn Patrick Hawkins peacefully passed away at his home in Springfield, NH on July 8, 2024, surrounded by his loved ones. He was 72 years old. Glenn was born on June 23, 1952, in Claremont, NH, and spent his childhood on the family farm in Cornish, NH, alongside his father Frank Benjamin Hawkins, his mother Theresa Mary Hawkins, and his three siblings. He developed lifelong friendships with his contemporaries during his formative years in Cornish. Glenn graduated from Stevens High School in 1970. In 1971, Glenn proudly joined the Marine Corps and served at Camp Lejeune. Known affectionately as “Geep” (short for Glenn Patrick, GP), he always had a love for military life. Following his military service, he found employment at Sturm Ruger before embarking on a career in carpentry with Snow Builders. Glenn’s skills and craftsmanship in carpentry were widely admired by friends and family, who often sought his help and expertise for various building projects. He also had a passion for beekeeping and shared many years of this hobby with his close friend Brian Richardson. In 1987, Glenn married Sandra Blish, and together they built a beautiful log home in Sunapee, NH, where they raised their two children, Melissa and Seth. Glenn is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Theresa Hawkins, his sister Catherine Marks, and his brother Ralph Hawkins. He is survived by his loving wife Sandra L. Hawkins, his cherished children Melissa K. Hawkins and Seth P. Hawkins, his brother Sherman Hawkins of Roswell, Georgia, along with his wife Carol, and Ralph’s wife Dee Hawkins of Sunapee, NH. Glenn also leaves behind one niece, five nephews, and three great-nephews. A graveside service will be held on July 26, 2024, at Edminster Cemetery in Cornish, NH, at noon (12:00 PM), followed by a time of remembrance, light refreshments, and sharing of memories at Poor Thom’s Tavern in Plainfield, NH, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM.
