WALPOLE, N.H. — In American Legion Baseball, Bellows Fall Post 37 took two on Saturday afternoon at the Hubbard Baseball Complex in Walpole, NH from Rutland Post 31.
In Game 1, Bellows Falls scored a run in the first and never trailed for the 5 to 2 victory. Rutland kept the game close, tying the game in the top of the third only to give up two runs in the fourth to Post 37. Rutland added a run in the fifth to make it 3-2. Bellows Falls added two insurance runs in the sixth inning. Jaden Bazin was the game winner; he struck out 10 and allowed three hits and two runs in five and 1/3 innings.
In Game 2, Bellows Falls defeated Rutland 8-7. Rutland jumped out to a 4-1 lead after one inning. Rutland led after three innings, 6-2. Bellows Falls added three runs in the fifth to make it 6 to 5. Rutland added a run in the top of the sixth only to allow Bellows Falls to score three in the bottom of the sixth to give Post 37 their first lead of the game and the 8-7 win.
Bellows Falls Post 37 improved to 4-14 while Rutland dropped to 5-14.
