NEW LONDON, N.H. — Colby-Sawyer College announced the Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2024 with four inductees and a team. The former student-athletes will be honored as part of Homecoming & Family Weekend, Oct. 18-20, 2024. Additional information regarding the induction ceremony on Oct. 19th will be released in the coming weeks.
Established in 2006, the Colby-Sawyer Athletic Hall of Fame celebrates the significant and impressive contributions of each of its members. These honorees are the individuals and the teams who, through their athletic talent and dedication to sport, have brought prominence to Colby-Sawyer athletics and competition at the conference, regional and national levels. It is due in large part to their extraordinary accomplishments that Colby-Sawyer College’s reputation in the world of sport continues to grow and gain respect.
Lisa LoMedico (Rodgers), a 1984 graduate, was a member of the women’s basketball team at Colby-Sawyer for three years. LoMedico was the first Charger in program history to eclipse the 1,000 point milestone, ending her career with 1,107 points. Lisa also ranks third in program-history in steals (245) and seventh in blocks (121).
LoMedico was a three-year team captain on the basketball team, an All-East team member in 1982, an NIAC All-Conference selection in 1983 and was named the female senior scholar athlete of the year in 1984.
Wendy Theall, a 2003 graduate, was a force for the women’s soccer team at Colby-Sawyer in her four-year career. Theall is the all-time points scorer in program-history with 103. She ranks second all-time in both goals (39) and assists (25).
Theall was named a CCC Second Team All-Conference selection in 1999 and an All-Conference Honorable Mention selection in 2002.
Rasheed Foster, a 2017 graduate, is the best men’s track & field athlete in program history making two trips to the NCAA Championship. Foster holds the program-record in indoor and outdoor track and field in the 60-meter dash and 200-meter dash. Foster was given the inaugural Outstanding Male Senior Athlete Award in 2017 while also being named the Charger Male Athlete of the Year as well.
Foster is a two-time NAC Champion, two-time USTFCCCA All-Region selection and a multiple NAC All-Conference runner. In 2016 and 2017 Rasheed was a ECAC Champion in the 100- and 200-meter dash.
Rachel Quaye, a 2017 graduate, is one of the best student-athletes to ever compete at Colby-Sawyer starring for the women’s soccer and track and field program for four years. On the soccer pitch, Quaye currently ranks eighth in points (62) and goals (25), while being third in game-winning goals (9). She was a three-year NAC All-Conference First Team selection, a 2015 All-New England Third team pick and four-time NAC Women’s Soccer Champion.
In the track and field program Quaye currently holds three records with two indoor records and the outdoor record. Quaye holds the indoor and outdoor record in the pentathlon, while also holding the shot put record in indoor track. She was the 2016-17 NAC Field Athlete of the Year, while earning eight All-NAC accolades.
Overall Quaye earned three Charger Female Athlete of the Year awards from 2014-17 and was the NAC Woman of the Year in 2017.
Closing out the 2024 hall of fame class is the 2009 Men’s Alpine Skiing Team. The 12-man roster coached by Garrett Lasher, MJ Richardson and Mike Nigro was the New England Regional Champions and the USCSA National Champions. The 2009 championship is the only alpine skiing national champion in program history. The team was led by Jeremy Lawless who was a First Team All-American and Shawn Dunstan who was a Second Team All-American.
