Harold “Bubba” Russell Ingalls Jr. passed away July 11th 2024 surrounded by his family at his home in Ascutney, VT. He was born August 15th 1962 in Newport NH to Harold Ingalls Sr. and Dorothy (Johnson) St.Peter. His nickname “Bubba” originated from his older sister Brenda who wasn’t able to pronounce brother thus calling him Bubba. The name stuck and has been what most have known him by. Growing up he attended the Newport schools. He enjoyed playing basketball and baseball and being outdoors. In his young adult life he worked at Arlington Sample books where he met the love of his life Diane (Smead) Ingalls. The two married on September 21st 1996. They resided in Cornish NH for a majority of their children’s life before buying their home in Ascutney VT in 2017. Bubba worked as a painter for several years. He became quite skilled in this profession and taught his sons the art of precision. For the past several years he worked for multiple auto part delivery companies amongst the Upper Valley. In his free time he enjoyed fishing with his sons, snowmobiling with his buddies, playing in summer softball leagues, going to the races, modified being one of his favorite classes to watch and be a part of, and all around having a good time. He also enjoyed horseshoes and cornhole. He played in several tournaments and would always score in the top 3. If anyone saw Bubba in passing you know a beer was in hand a memory was being made.
Over the last year or so of declining health he wasn’t as rambunctious as he once was but still lived his life to his fullest. In the last couple of years he became a dog dad to a boxer puppy (Bubba Gump who is the son of his grand pups Zeke and Zoey), welcomed his new granddaughter into the world, went on a Father’s Day fishing trip with his sons and grandson, took his canoe out on the water, went to the races and enjoyed every minute of life with his friends and family. The memories he gave us all will forever be cherished and he will be missed dearly.
He is Predeceased by his mother Dorothy St.Peter and brother Russell Ingalls.
He leaves behind his wife Diane Ingalls (Ascutney,VT) , his oldest son Harold Ingalls III (Laconia,NH) and grandkids Mason, Savannah, and Rosalina, son Blaine Ingalls (Ascutney, VT) and fiancé Emily Anderson and grandchild Avery, and youngest son Logan Ingalls (Ascutney, VT).
He also leaves his father Harold Ingalls Sr (Charlestown, NH), sisters Vickie Ingalls and Brenda Westover (Claremont, NH) and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
A celebration of life will be held at the Windsor American Legion on Saturday August 17th from 1pm-3pm. We invite family and friends to join us to pay tribute to a man whose presence was a blessing and whose devilish grin and twinkle in his eyes could make anyone smirk. His memory will forever be etched into our hearts.
