Walpole defeats Bellows Falls in championship

WALPOLE, N.H. — The Fall Mountain Babe Ruth League Championship Game was played on Wednesday evening at the Hubbard Baseball Complex in Walpole NH. The No. 1 seed Walpole Wildcats defeated the No. 6 seeded Bellows Falls 12-2 with the five-inning run rule.  

The Wildcats had wins over Springfield and Lebanon while Bellows Falls had upset wins over Hartford and the Sunapee Lakers to advance to the Championship Game.  

Bellows Falls scored two runs in the first inning but allowed five to Walpole in the bottom of the first. Walpole added five in the second and single runs in the fourth and fifth innings for the 12- 2 win. Devyn Cheeney was the winning pitcher for Walpole who finished the season at 11-3. Quincy Knapp took the loss for Bellows Falls who finished at 7-8.
