HANOVER, N.H. — Koenig Family Head Coach of Dartmouth Men’s Hockey Reid Cashman announced the addition of eight student-athletes ahead of the 2024-25 season. Seven of the student-athletes join the program as first-year students while one student-athlete joins the Big Green as a transfer.
“We are excited to welcome eight new members to Dartmouth Hockey. This group comes to Hanover with a desire to achieve great things in their four years. They come from geographically diverse backgrounds ranging from Boston to the Yukon Territory” Cashman said.
Austin Salani | First-Year | Forward | Hancock, Michigan
Salani joins the Big Green following a three-year career with the Austin Bruins of the NAHL. During his three seasons in Austin, he played in 169 games while scoring 56 goals, he added 80 assists while having a +44 rating. In 2023-24, he served as captain while setting a career high in both goals and assists. He earned Second Team All-NAHL and First Team NAHL Central Division honors in 2023-24. Prior to starting his junior career in 2021, he played four seasons at Hancock Central High School. Over his four years at Hancock Central he scored 80 goals and added 100 assists in 91 career games.
Colin Grable | First-Year | Defense | Spring Lake, New Jersey
Grable spent the last two seasons with the Cedar Rapids Roughriders and joins Dartmouth following 168 games in Junior ‘A’. The defensemen tallied 11 goals along with 38 assists in 168 career games. In 2023-24, he served as a captain for Cedar Rapids while also setting a career high in goals, assists, and points. Prior to starting his junior career, the Spring Lake, New Jersey native was named New Jersey All-State in both 2020 and 2021. In 2021-22 as a member of the New Jersey Jr. Titans he won the Robertson Cup while tallying three points in 13 playoff games.
Hayden Stavroff | First-Year | Forward | Columbus, Ohio
Stavroff joins Dartmouth following two seasons in the BCHL. In 2022-23, he started his BCHL career with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. With the Silverbacks, he skated in 40 games while scoring 14 goals with 21 assists. In 2023-24, he suited up for the Alberni Valley Bulldogs and appeared in 46 games with 35 goals and 20 assists, he led Alberni Valley in goals while also leading the entire BCHL. He also had 11 power play goals which was tied for the most in the BCHL.
Tim Busconi | First-Year | Defense | Milton, Massachusetts
After playing the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons with the Victoria Grizzlies of the BCHL, Busconi joins Dartmouth following 84 BCHL games. The defensemen netted three goals in his BCHL career along with 19 assists. Over the last two seasons he has skated in 15 playoff games while notching five assists. Prior to starting his junior career, the Milton, Massachusetts native played his minor hockey with the Boston Advantage organization.
Joshua Schenk | First-Year | Forward | Whitehorse, Yukon Territory
Schenk joins the Big Green forward group following a three-year career with the Trail Smoke Eaters of the BCHL. In three seasons, in the BCHL he skated in 142 games while totaling 31 goals and 36 assists. In 2023-24, he set a career high with 32 points after scoring 12 goals and adding a career high 20 points. He scored a career high 16 goals in 2022-23. In his last season with the Trail Smoke Eaters, he served as an assistant captain.
Hank Cleaves | First-Year | Forward | Riverside, Connecticut
Cleaves starts his collegiate career following two seasons with the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL. In two seasons with Vernon, he skated in 94 games while scoring 28 goals with 61 assists. In 2023-24, he set career highs in both goals with 15 and assists with 36. Cleaves finished fifth in the BCHL in points per game in 2023-24 as he averaged 1.24 points per game. During his two seasons with the Vipers played in 21 playoff games, he tallied 12 postseason points.
Jack Silverberg | First-Year | Forward | Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada
Silverberg rounds out the Class of 2028 for the Big Green. Silverberg comes to Hanover following three seasons of Junior ‘A’. He spent his first two seasons of juniors with the Drayton Valley Thunder of the AJHL. In 97 games with Drayton Valley from 2021-23 he scored 17 goals and added 36 points. In 2023-24, he joined the Okotoks Oilers who started the season in the AJHL, in 40 AJHL games he scored 19 goals and added 27 assists. In the second half of the season in the BCHL, he tallied eight goals and 12 assists in 19 games. He captained Team Canada West in the World Junior A Challenge in December 2023, in six tournament games he notched eight points on three goals and five assists.
Emmett Crouteau | Sophomore | Goalie | Bonnyville, Alberta, Canada
Crouteau enters his second year of college hockey after starting his career at Clarkson in 2023-24. Last season, he appeared in six games for the Golden Knights with a 3.53 goals against average and an .835 save percentage. He picked up his first collegiate win against Michigan Tech on Oct. 28 as he made 20 saves on 21 shots. Prior to Clarkson, he played for the Waterloo Black Hawks of the USHL for three seasons. In those three seasons he had 41 wins with a .904 save percentage and a 2.91 goals against average. In 2022, he was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the sixth round of the NHL Entry Level Draft.
The Big Green return 20 student-athletes from 2023-24 including their top seven-point getters. Luke Haymes returns for his junior season following a sophomore campaign that saw him tally 18 goals and 18 assists. CJ Foley is the top returning point getter from the blueline, as a first-year he scored five times while adding 15 assists. Roan Clarke and Mikey Roberts return to the crease for the Big Green.
“It is a group of ultra-competitive young men that are high in character. We look forward to integrating them with our 20 returners as this 24-25 season kicks off” Cashman added about the eight new members of the Big Green.
Dartmouth opens its season on Nov. 1 with an ECAC road game against Harvard at 7 p.m. in Cambridge. The Big Green open their home slate of games against Stonehill on Nov. 3 with puck drop scheduled for 3 p.m. at Thompson Arena.
