NEWPORT, N.H. — Lumos Films, a California based film production company, is thrilled to announce production commencement for “Ghostly Getaways,” a new Paranormal themed travel show created by Nathan Gardner of Newport. The new show will follow Gardner and friends as they travel across the country seeking out the most haunted hotels, inns, vacation rentals, and more. In each episode the team will highlight a different accommodation, while exploring the weird, quirky, and spooky things to do nearby during the daylight hours and investigating the hauntings of their hotels in the evening.
As Gardner describes it, “think of us as the travel agent to the Addams Family!”
A pilot episode has been filmed at an incredibly haunted, but lesser known, hotel in Southern California, with the primary season shooting this fall. Many of the locations highlighted will be in New England, with a few located in the Upper Valley and Lake Sunapee regions of New Hampshire and Vermont.
“Shows like Ghost Hunters paved the way, galvanizing people like me into exploring the world of the paranormal more,” Gardner said. “What frustrated me, though, was that for the longest time I assumed most of the places featured weren’t accessible. We’re turning that on its head. We’ll not only exclusively feature places audiences can go, but we’ll show them how to build the perfect haunted vacation, how best to investigate in places, and more. It’s a bit more interactive than the normal paranormal content out there.”
Shooting is planned for this fall in and around the Upper Valley, and across New England. To finalize the last bit of funding for the project, Gardner has launched a Kickstarter page where interested folks can follow the process and, if so inclined, contribute to the show. A wide array of thank you gifts are available for donors and supporters, ranging from crew swag to an advance look at a forthcoming “Ghostly Getaways” book, all the way up to becoming a producer on the show and receiving a full haunted getaway with the cast of the show to a haunted hotel.
