With the exhibition open until September 2, there’s still plenty of time to see these winning quilts as well as the other 56 remarkable quilts on display from across Vermont. This diverse collection features works from first-time quilters, including a 6-year-old, as well as seasoned amateurs and professionals. The exhibition highlights a wide variety of techniques, styles, and skills, with each quilt telling a unique story. Interpretive panels and gallery labels help guide visitors through the themes interwoven in the exhibition.
In addition to viewing the quilts, visitors can engage in hands-on activities and crafts, designed for all ages to explore the tradition and creativity of quilting. These activities include scavenger hunts with I-spy challenges, a quilt piecing game demonstrating quilt design, and a quilt anatomy display with touchable fabrics. Guests can also contribute to a communal paper quilt by creating their own quilt square.
The exhibition is open daily from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM through September 2 and is included with admission. Billingsfarm.org/quilt-exhibition.
