BARRE, Vt. & NAPLES, Maine — American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials announced an exciting addition to the Thompson Speedway schedule on Sunday, Sept. 8. The Back to School Bash 75 for the Thompson Late Models will feature a 75 lap, $5,000-to-win showdown on the Thompson highbanks open to all ACT Late Models across the northeast. The big money, extra distance affair is now set as the headliner to the Sunday, Sept. 8 program at Thompson which will also include the Thompson Sunoco Modifieds, AZ Roofing SK Light Modifieds, Street Stocks and Mini Stocks with a 3 p.m. Post Time.
The Thompson Late Models annually put on some of the best racing of the night on the 85-year-old, 0.625-mile at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park and their chance to prove that fact will come at full bore on Sunday, Sept. 8. The $5,000-to-win spectacular is sure to attract not only the track championship hopefuls but also a strong contingent of invaders ready to tackle the big money purse in preparation for a busy Sunoco World Series weekend featuring the American-Canadian Tour on Oct. 11, 12 and 13.
“A long-time supporter, who wishes to remain anonymous, came to Tom and I with an idea to headline September’s Sunday program with a big Late Model race and we were all for it,” said American-Canadian Tour Managing Partner Cris Michaud. “Both Tom and I think this will be a great way to round out the summer program before we come back full steam for the Sunoco World Series in October.”
Thompson Speedway returns to oval racing action on Sunday, Sept. 8 with the Back to School Bash. The Sunday special is headlined by the $5,000-to-win Back to School Bash 75 for the Thompson Late Models plus continued track championship action for the Thompson Sunoco Modifieds, AZ Roofing SK Light Modifieds, Street Stocks and Mini Stocks to ring in the end of summer fun at full speed. Post Time is set for 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8 with the full schedule of events available soon.
