NEWBURY, N.H. — The Sunapee Lakers took care of business against local foe Mount Royal Academy and advanced to 2-0 on the young season behind an 8-0 victory at Fisher Field in Newbury, New Hampshire.
Sunapee goals and assists were scored by Clare Tuohy (five goals, one assist), Lil Kelleher (one goal, one assist), Chloe Leslie (one goal), Katelyn Andersen (one goal, one assist) and Olive Jennings (one assist).
“We had some team goals related to pace and intensity that we fell short of today, but all in all the kids did what they needed to do. There were some bright spots in the afternoon including the continued aggressive play of Anna Filippov, periodic solid ball movement through the midfield, and in general, the second half play of our back four.”
Sunapee now has two days to prepare for the undefeated reigning state champions (Profile) to come to Sunapee on Friday.
“We will see where we stand in the division on Friday; they are a strong opponent.”
