Dianna L. Shonio (Diane), 61 of Claremont, passed away unexpectedly at her home on July 8th, 2024. She was born on March 19th, 1963, in Randolph, VT, to Roberta E. Benoir (LaFountain), and Wilson F. Shonio. She grew up in Bethel, VT, and attended schools in Bethel, Randolph, and graduated from Hartford High School. Diane moved to Springfield, VT, where she resided for many years, and worked at the Hanson-Court-Nursing-Home as a dietary aide. She later moved to Claremont, NH, where she lived an independent life for many years, until a life altering event changed her life around. Diane spent over 4 months in DHMC (Dartmouth-Hitchcock), until she was able to be released.
She lived with her care giver and their family, whom she loved dearly (Shawnette Letteman), until her passing on July 8th, 2024. She enjoyed drawing/coloring, Roy Orbison and Phyl Collins music, dolphins, Mickey-Mouse, going to curves and stepping-stones, and especially spending time with family and friends. Dianna was also a very active member of the Special Olympics during her school years, where she earned many medals and ribbons.
She was loved dearly by her family, friends and anyone that knew her. She had a heart of gold, and loved making people laugh with her bubbly personality. She was a client of Pathways in Claremont for many years. She is pre-deceased by both of her parents. She is survived by her three sisters: Theresa Shonio of Chester, VT., Tammy Goddard of Williamstown, VT., and Lisa McGuckin of West Lebanon, NH., One brother: Mark LaFountain of Enfield, NH., several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
There will be a celebration of life at a later date.
