Tom Bascom

CHARLESTOWN, NH – Tom Bascom, 85, formerly of Charlestown NH, passed away at home in Mesa AZ with family by his side on May 28th, 2024 after a period of failing health. Tom was born on July 7, 1938 to Merton and Charlotte Bascom and raised in Charlestown. He and his wife Lauria (Poisson) raised their family on East Street before moving to the sunshine of Arizona in 1988.

Tom was a proud member of Old #4 Fire & Hose Company from 1962 to 1988 and worked for the NHDOT until his retirement far, far away from the snow and ice of NH. In retirement he and Lauria enjoyed traveling in their RV, exploring the natural wonders of the country and welcoming winter refugees to their Mesa home. His extensive collection of fire service themed miniatures and souvenirs was (and is) the envy of many!

Tom is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lauria, his son Tom and his wife Jami of Greenfield NH, son Tim and his wife Kat of Mesa AZ, son Mike and his wife Jeanine of Newbury NH, and his many grandchildren, nephews and nieces.

There will be visiting hours on September 26th from 6pm to 8pm at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street in Charlestown, NH
