Vic worked at Foster Beef Co. as a teenager after school and later trained as a machinist at Joy Manufacturing Co. He was a member of the National Guard from 1954-1962. He was called up for training at Fort Bragg, NC, and spent a year during the Berlin Crisis. His family went with him and moved to Claremont NH after returning home. He worked at Claremont Beef Co. for many years until he purchased Land of Meat and the Foster Beef Co. in 1975, which is now well known as Liberal Beef Co. He also owned a contractor company for a time.
Vic was a loyal donator to several organizations in town and helped with many projects throughout the years, which included the Elks Lodge (Elk of the Year in 2001 and Trustee for 10 years), American Legion, Moose Lodge, donations to the soup kitchen, and was also named Honorary Fireman of the Claremont Fire Department.
He had an uncanny way of telling his stories and making some up for his grandkids. Papa will be greatly missed by all who were close to him. “Say not in grief that he is no more, but in thankfulness that he was”.
Per Victor’s request, there will be no public calling hours. There will be a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, September 18th, at 11:00 am at the Common Man in Claremont for family and close family friends.
