SUNAPEE, NH– Judith Roberts Jenkins, aged 87, of Sunapee, New Hampshire, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2024 at Kendal in Hanover. Born on June 7, 1937 in Winchester, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Mary and Walter Roberts.
Judith Jenkins is survived by her daughter Lee Kauffman of New London, New Hampshire and her son Steven Jenkins of Needham, Massachusetts, her grandchildren Matthew Kauffman, Justin Kauffman, Meredith Kauffman, Carolyn Barry, and Andrew Jenkins and greatgrandchild Mia Kauffman and she will be deeply missed by her brother Paul Roberts.
A graduate of Winchester High in Winchester, Mass, she went on to attend Colby College to earn a degree in English Literature in 1959, she spent her short career as a newspaper journalist.
Judy had a profound love for the game of baseball, notably the Boston Red Sox. Following a significant donation to the National Baseball Hall of Fame, she became a lifetime member.
Hours will be held at Chadwick Funeral Home, 235 Main Street, New London, New Hampshire from 9:00 to 10:30AM on Saturday, October 5, 2024 followed by a memorial service at 11:00 A.M. at The First Baptist Church, 461 Main Street, New London, NH. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Lake Sunapee Protective Association or the National Baseball Hall of Fame in her memory.
