CHARLESTOWN, NH– Thomas E. Eagan, Sr. 82, of Charlestown, NH passed away on Friday, September 27, 2024 at the Sullivan County Healthcare facility in Unity. He was born on March 20, 1942 to Louise and Bernard Eagan, Sr. in Castleton, VT. After attending Fair Haven High School, Tom immediately joined the Army in 1959, where he served in Germany. He was a proud veteran.
In 1967, Tom married the love of his life, Lorraine Edwards of Bellows Falls, VT. He is survived by his wife, Lorraine, his daughter, Melissa Monty of Alstead, NH, and his son Thomas Eagan, Jr and his wife, Lori of Claremont. He adored his six grandchildren, William Monty, II of Alstead, Michael and his wife, Kayla of New Hampton, NH, Alyssa Monty of New York, Nicholas Eagan of Biddeford, ME, Matthew Eagan and Lilyana Eagan of Claremont, NH, and two great grandsons, Colin and Cedric Monty. He is also survived by his sister Phyllis Bixby and her husband, Randy, of Mount Holly, VT, as well many nieces and nephews.
Throughout his life, Tom was an active member of the Catholic church, serving as an eucharistic minister at St. Mary’s Church in Claremont and a member of the Knights of Columbus in Charlestown.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, October 1, 2024 at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel from 4 to 6 pm. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 2nd at 11AM at St. Catherine’s Church on Main Street in Charlestown. A burial service will immediately follow at the Brownsville Cemetery in West Windsor, VT.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Tom to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
