BELLOWS FALLS, Vt. — Green Mountain boy’s soccer traveled to Bellows Falls Union High School on a cool Wednesday afternoon. Green Mountain was coming off a big win on Saturday against Springfield while the Terriers are still seeking their first victory.
Green Mountain started their younger players for the first 22 minutes.
Bellows Falls scored the first goal by Malik Gordon at 27:05. Green Mountain tied the game at 16:13 on a Reece Cassin goal. Green Mountain took the lead at 11:36 on a goal by Evan Kirdzik. Tanner Swisher extended Green Mountain’s lead to 3-1 in the 37th minute of the first half.
Green Mountain quickly scored to begin the second half, adding goals at 38:26 and 26: 01 to extend their lead to 5-1.
Green Mountain added a goal at 13:28, increasing the lead to 6-1.
At 5:33 the Terriers’ Malik Gordon added his second goal of the match to cut the lead to 6-2. With 2:25 left Green Mountain closed out the scoring at 7-2 to improve their record to 9-1. Second half goals were scored by Rasmaz Backlund, Seth Pelkey and adding their second goals of the match was Tanner Swisher and Evan Kirdzik.
