BURLINGTON, Vt. — VIP Tires & Service — northern New England’s leader in all things tires and service — announced the promotion of Stephen White to district manager, overseeing all five of VIP’s Vermont locations as well as its West Lebanon, New Hampshire location. Effective immediately, White will support the teams at those six locations, identify areas of improvement and work with individual leaders to help them become the best automotive professionals and leaders they can be.
White began at VIP during the fall of 2010 as a part-time parts associate, working his way up to second assistant store manager, service writer, assistant service manager and service manager before his most recent role as market manager. White started at the Littleton, New Hampshire location, but Williston, Vermont became his home store before he also began overseeing stores in Burlington and Shelburne. “We had a small team in Williston, Vermont when I led the store. We kept the same small crew for over a year, had record sales growth and we continued to grow as a unit. We were, for lack of a better term, a family, and working that closely with a team, helping them better themselves professionally, and in turn, their home life, is one of the greatest accomplishments of my life.” |
White has earned five Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications and has completed Extreme Ownership Training, leadership training, P and L Boot Camp, Goodyear National Account Training and Michelin TARS Training. A proud Vermonter, White hails from Swanton, but grew up in St. Albans and Wells River, graduating from Blue Mountain High School in 2009. He enjoys spending his free time with his partner and four children, especially hiking and being outdoors.
VIP is northern New England’s largest privately held automotive service provider and tire dealer. Based in Auburn, Maine, the company operates over 70 locations in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Connecticut. Each store is staffed with ASE and Tire Industry Association (TIA) certified automotive professionals seven days a week, earning automotive customers of life.
“It is amazing to see how far Stephen has come since starting at VIP, working hard to grow as a leader and learn every step of the way,” said Tim Winkeler, president and CEO of VIP. “Stephen has proven his leadership skills in each of the stores he has overseen and his dedication to ongoing learning through ASE and leadership trainings is exactly what we look for here at VIP. We couldn’t be prouder to promote Stephen to district manager throughout Vermont, in West Lebanon, New Hampshire, and other stores in the area that we plan to open in the future.”
