CLAREMONT, N.H. — A two-car motor vehicle accident resulted in an occupant being trapped after being turned over on its side, and while two people were hospitalized, officials reported that the victims are in stable condition.
According to information provided by Claremont Fire Lt. Michael Snide, on Nov. 18 at 1:24 p.m. the Claremont Fire Department was dispatched to Charlestown Road and Grissom Lane for a report of a two-car accident with entrapment and injuries.
Car 1, Ladder 1 and Rescue 1 arrived at the scene at 1:28 p.m. and crews found a vehicle on its side with a single occupant trapped inside. A second vehicle was off the roadway with the driver outside the vehicle.
“The fire crews quickly assessed the scene, stabilizing the overturned vehicle before using specialized rescue equipment to extricate the trapped occupant,” Snide said in the report. “Both individuals were treated on scene by emergency responders from Golden Cross Ambulance, who then transported the victims to Valley Regional Hospital. Both patients were reported to be in stable condition.”
The vehicle blocking the roadway was removed and debris and fluids were cleaned up by the Claremont Fire Department, with apparatus clearing the scene at 2:30 p.m.
