Rosa Guzman

PLAINFIELD, NH– Rosa Guzman of Plainfield, NH peacefully passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at the age of 85 family and friends by her side at Jack Byrne Center in Lebanon, NH.

Rosa was born in 1939 in Ecuador to Brigido and Francisca Burgos. She immigrated with her family to the U.S. in 1965, raising five children with husband Juan Guzman in Hackensack and Harrington Park, NJ.  She retired after 22 years of service from Pascack Valley Hospital, Westwood, NJ. 

After her husband’s death and work retirement, she made Plainfield, NH her home of twenty years.

Rosa cherished time with family, friends, and her beloved cat.  She dearly loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchild.  She enjoyed cooking, traveling with family, hosting dinner parties, drawing and painting classes at Ava Gallery, and walking in the local country roads.  She was baptized by Jehovah’s Witnesses in 2009 and attended service regularly.  Rosa appreciated the caring supportive help from Mount Ascutney Hospital and recently from Bayada Hospice.

Rosa was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her brother Alejandro Burgos, and sisters Luz Hernandez and Inez Cabrera.

Rosa is survived by her children: Maria Guzman and Ana Mettler (Tony) of Plainfield, NH; Rosita Magaziner (Barry) of Harrington Park, NJ; Nelly Palmer (William) of Cornish, NH; and John Guzman (Kathy) of Flemington, NJ.  Her eight grandchildren and one great granddaughter: Daniel Palmer (Shannon), Sarah Palmer-DeClara (Joey), Rachel Magaziner (Kiara), Jason Magaziner (Jake), Alexandra Mettler, Julia, Zachary, and Nick Guzman, and great-granddaughter Ava Rose.  Rosa is also survived by sisters Luisa Santoro and Germania Monard.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
