CLAREMONT, N.H. — The Claremont Senior Center is open every Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. There are many activities like pool, card games, cribbage, puzzles, mahjong, knitting and quilting, to name a few. There is also a Miracle Ear, American Red Cross Blood Drive and VNA Foot Clinic also scheduled.
Reservations are required for lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays; call 603-678-0433 for dine-in or drive-thru. The menu for Thursday, Jan. 9 is soup, baked haddock, potatoes, vegetables and apple crisp. The menu for Tuesday, Jan. 14 is soup, macaroni and cheese, stewed tomatoes and brownies. The price is $5 for members and $6 for non-members.
Donate to the Salad Fund and Ken will purchase the ingredients.
A Turkey Dinner will be on Saturday, Jan. 18 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Call 603-678-0433 for reservations by 3 p.m.; indicate whether you are eating in or taking out, as well as the number of meals you need. The menu includes turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, gravy, squash, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls and strawberry cream pie. The price is $15 per meal.
Happy New Year! Come join the fun and socialize with old and new friends on Monday, Jan. 20 at 8 a.m. for the Senior Men’s Breakfast. The cost is $2 for members and $3 for non-members.
January Foot Clinics will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 8 and Jan. 25. These are sponsored by Lake Sunapee Region VNA and Hospice with a charge of $30. Appointments are required by calling 603-748-1731.
Bingo is held every Wednesday afternoon. Purchase cards by 12:45 p.m.; games start at 1. The concession is open until bingo starts.
Want to show your cribbage skills with others? Come and join other enthusiastic players on Tuesdays at 1 p.m.
“Wannabe” mahjong newcomers are welcome. Interested in learning the game? Come on Fridays at 1 p.m.
Come show off your knitting masterpieces! We are excited to see them, so come by on Fridays from 1 to 3 p.m. and have a good time.
The Women to Women group will meet Thursday, Jan. 16 at 1 p.m. All women are welcome to come and talk about any issues they are experiencing.

Do you want to be part of the game of pool? Ladies play every Monday from 1 to 3 p.m. Men play Tuesday and Thursday from 9 a.m. to noon.
Come tell your story with the quilting skills you want to share with other quilters. You don’t have to be a quilter to attend; bring your own project. The next meeting is Friday, Jan. 24 at 10 a.m.
The next chair yoga session is Monday, Jan. 13 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Members are free and non-members are $5. The sign-up sheet is in the lobby.
Bring your line dancing feet every Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Beginners line dance begins from 7 to 8:30 and then intermediate dancing is from 8:30 to 9 p.m. The cost is $3 for members (bring your card) and $5 for non-members. One price will give you both beginner and intermediate sessions. Bring your own beverage and a snack if you need one.
Tai chi class has begun for 2025, and the next session will be on Wednesday, Jan. 8 from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. at the Claremont Senior Center. We will go over the form (a series of flowing movements), exercises to help further with balance/fall prevention/ease of movement, etc., and tools to practice at home. The next Claremont Senior Center Fundraiser Bingo will be on Friday, Jan. 10. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. and games start at 6. This is open to the public, must be 18 years of age to play. The next membership meeting will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 14 at 1 p.m. This will give you a chance to hear what is happening with the center and the chance to win free lunch.
