SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — A Springfield woman was arrested on New Year’s Day for possession of crack cocaine after officers saw her entering and leaving a “known drug house” on Spring Street.
According to a release by the Springfield Police Department, Bobbiejo Chambers, 44, was arrested and charged with possession of cocaine.
At 1 p.m. on Jan. 1, officers were surveilling a residence on Spring Street for drug activity when they saw Chambers go inside the house and leave shortly after.
“Officers performed a consensual encounter with Chambers,” the report stated. “After an investigation, Chambers was allegedly found to be in possession of crack cocaine. Chambers was taken into custody without incident.”
Chambers was taken to the Springfield Police Department to be processed and was issued a citation to appear in Windsor County Criminal Court on March 11 at 8:30 a.m. to answer to the charge.
On. Jan. 3, a toxicology report of a Cavendish man suspected of driving under the influence of drugs found that there were “impairing substances” in his blood at the time when he was driving.
On Nov. 8 at 8:53 a.m., the Springfield Police Department received a complaint of a possible impaired driver located at the Springfield Dam. When the officers arrived, they found the suspected vehicle and its operator, 36-year-old Robert Williams.
“Throughout the encounter, Robert had indicated numerous clues of impairment,” the report stated. “Robert was requested to undergo Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST’s), where there were more indicators of impairment observed. Robert was ultimately taken into custody for the alleged charge of suspicion of DUI-drugs.”
Consent to search the vehicle was granted, and officers found what was suspected to be heroin. He was then taken to the Springfield Police Department for processing.
Sgt. Richard King of the Windsor County Sheriff’s Department is a Drug Recognition Expert, and he performed a DRE evaluation. As a result, King recommended to obtain a blood sample to be sent to the Vermont Forensic Laboratory for a toxicology examination. Williams voluntarily provided a sample, and it was discovered that he was under the influence at the time of operation.
Williams was later issued a criminal citation to appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit, on March 11 at 8:30 a.m., to answer for the charge of DUI-drug and Possession of Heroin.
On Dec. 24, a Springfield man was arrested for unlawful trespassing and retail theft from Shaw’s Supermarket.
Nicholas Ragucci, 33, allegedly stole items from the store and violated a no trespass order. A police investigation positively identified Ragucci, as he had allegedly trespassed onto the property and stole items.
Ragucci was located on Jan. 5 and issued as criminal citation appear in the Vermont Superior Court, Criminal Division, Windsor Unit, on March 11.
