CLAREMONT, NH– Ronald J. Landry, 74, of Claremont, NH died Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at Dartmouth Medical Center. He was born June 21, 1950 in Manchester, NH. Son of Edward and Yvonne (Duchesne) Landry.
Raised in Manchester, attended Manchester schools. Graduated Bishop Bradley High School and NH Vocational Technical College.
Ron served with the VT National Guard A-2-172 Company in Bradford VT. He worked in the automotive repair business. Goodyear Tire Company as a store manager, McNamara Motors, and Lambert Auto Sales for 24 years as the Service Advisor. Ron was very active in the community with the Claremont Lions Club, coaching Claremont youth sports, and along with his wife Judy, announcing games for the local Claremont Community Television where he was also a board member. Ron enjoyed time spent with his family, camping and enjoying sports. Ron was a loving Pepere to his wonderful 5 grandchildren and looking forward to meeting his 6th grandchild due in the spring. Ron was a life- long New England Sports fan and rollercoaster enthusiast. Ron knew many things about all aspects of life and history, especially sports. It even earned him the nickname “Ronnie Brittanica”. As his life went on, Ron became well known to everyone – there were no strangers, no face he wouldn’t greet. Ron will forever be known for his infectious smile, sense of humor, and loving personality.
Ron was predeceased by his “loving bride”, Judy Landry, devoted parents, and sisters Rita Lacourse, Janet Landry, Lorraine Heafield, and Claire Morin. Survived by his 3 children. Daughter, Christine (Brian) Redford, daughter, Melissa (Matt) Landry, son, Joseph (Anissa) Landry and 5, soon to be 6 grandchildren, Emma and Jacob Redford, Ridley, Beckett, Blake, and Ansen Landry as well as many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held at Stringers Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont, NH on Wednesday, February 5th from 9:30-10:30 followed by an 11:00 Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph’s Church. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery.
Donations may be made in Ron’s name to the Humane Society and/or Sullivan County Meals on Wheels.
