On Monday, Feb. 10, Sullivan County Sheriff Jayson Almstrom swore in the following personnel: Deputy Sheriff Eric Bates; Deputy Sheriff Eric James; and Deputy Sheriff Justin Combs.
These deputies are investigators who specialize in Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) and are federally funded. Deputies James and Combs have an office located in Lincoln, New Hampshire, and Deputy Combs is also a K-9 handler. His black lab, “Watson,” is trained to detect electronics when searching an area for digital evidence during a search warrant. When Sullivan County has a case that warrants their expertise, they will respond at no added cost to the taxpayers.
Deputy Bates will be filling an open vacancy at the Sheriff’s Office.
