Stephanie Ager, Wesleyan University, Indoor Track & Field
After earning All-American honors on the trails during the fall, the junior distance runner opened the season by winning the 5,000-meter run (17:09.74) at the Wesleyan Winter Invite. Ager will look to ramp up again for the outdoor track & field season, where she earned All-American honors a season ago by placing 15th in the 10,000-meter run at the NCAA Championships.
Grace Bazin, Keene State College, Women’s Ice Hockey
The junior defensive player is in her first year on the ice hockey team after earning Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Year honors in field hockey. Bazin is second on the team with 10 assists and has also notched two goals from the back line for the 13-11 Owls.
Dylan Clark, Westfield State University, Indoor Track & Field
The senior thrower posted personal bests in both of his events at the Massasoit Invitational on Jan. 25 in Springfield, Massachusetts. Clark won the weight throw with a heave of 47’4.5″ and finished fourth in shot put (43’5″) while competing in the birthplace of basketball.
Owen LaRoss, Merrimack College, Indoor Track & Field
After finishing fifth in discus at the Northeast Conference Championships during the outdoor season, the junior thrower has shifted his focus to shot put for the indoor campaign. LaRoss achieved his personal best in shot put at the Crimson Open on Feb. 8, placing fifth with a toss of 43’3″.
Leo Schnipper, VTSU Castleton, Alpine Skiing
The junior skier is the only Vermonter on a Castleton roster, which features eight athletes from outside the United States. Schnipper’s top finish this season came at West Mountain in Queensbury, New York, where he placed 24th to help the Spartans finish third in the giant slalom event.
