Basketball Roundup: BF sinks Woodstock on Senior Night

Girls Basketball 

Bellows Falls 77, Woodstock 32 

WESTMINSTER, Vt. — Bellows Falls raced out to a 35-19 halftime on Senior Night at Holland Gymnasium and never looked back during a dominant performance against the Wasps.  

Laura Kamel led the Terriers with 19 points, Abby Nystrom was next with 16 and Aubrey Maxfield added 15. Along with Kamel and Maxfield, seniors Emma McCullough and Nola Sciacca were honored during a pregame ceremony.  

Bellows Falls (13-4) heads to White River Valley on Thursday before wrapping up the regular season at home against Green Mountain.  

Arlington 43, Green Mountain 37 (OT) 

CHESTER, Vt. — Green Mountain entered the fourth quarter with a 30-23 advantage, but the Eagles battled back to force an extra period with the score tied at 35.  

Arlington took control during overtime to move to 14-4 on the season.  

Colie Roby led Green Mountain with 14 points and Kaylee DeBartolo added eight.  

Green Mountain (9-9) hosts Rivendell on Thursday before heading to Bellows Falls on Saturday.  

West Rutland 64, Springfield 37 

SPRINGFIELD, Vt. — West Rutland maintained the top spot in Division 4 with a dominant performance on Monday night at Dressel Gymnasium.  

Macie Stagner had a monster night for Springfield with 32 points. Peyton Guay, the all-time leading scorer in Vermont girls high school basketball, was the top scorer for West Rutland with 19 points.  

Springfield (7-12) hosts Otter Valley in its regular season finale on Thursday at 7 p.m. The Cosmos will look to even the season series after dropping a 47-38 decision against Otter Valley on Feb. 8.  

Boys Basketball 

Thetford 83, Windsor 42 

THETFORD, Vt. — Windsor’s season came to a close following a lopsided loss against Thetford in the opening round of the playoffs.  

Tanner Crane led the Yellow Jackets with 15 points and Michael Lopez added 10.  

Windsor finished the season with a 3-17 record. Thetford (18-3) will host a quarterfinal matchup on Friday.
