Letters To Editor

Attend the Acuity meeting on March 6

To the Editor:
Friends! Please show up to the Claremont Opera House on Thursday, March 6 at 6 p.m. to tell the NH Department of Environmental Services to protect our community. Urge state regulators to deny Acuity Management Inc.’s latest permit application for a massive construction and demolition waste operation. Claremont Junction is not an appropriate site for an industrial-scale, toxic-waste collection and shipping business, and Acuity’s major change-of-use violates local land-use law.

This travesty began in 2016 when Acuity bought a bankrupt scrapyard and local recycling center, called Recycling Services Inc. If DES is to act responsibly, they must refuse modifying a decades old, two-page permit for an abandoned recycling operation.

Democracy works best when practiced together in our hometowns. Acuity’s 1987 permit should be terminated, not modified. Enough is enough. Please come out on Thursday, March 6 and support local control. Show up for Claremont and the region. You will be glad you did. Together we can make a difference.
Love Claremont – love our region – Stop Acuity
