Bishop Libasci ordains Rev. Jordan Easley

MANCHESTER, N.H. — The Most Reverend Peter A. Libasci, D.D., Bishop of Manchester, the Roman Catholic Church in New Hampshire, ordained Rev. Jordan Easley to the priesthood at Saint Joseph Cathedral in Manchester on Feb. 22.

Formerly an Anglican minister for six years, Rev. Easley prepared for the Sacrament of Holy Orders in accord with the program of studies and formation proper to the Pastoral Provision, which was established in 1982 by Pope Saint John Paul II at the request of former episcopal clergymen.

“Along with all the faithful of the Diocese of Manchester, I give thanks to God for the priesthood of Reverend Easley,” said Bishop Libasci. “While he is the first former Anglican minister ordained as a Roman Catholic priest in our Diocese’s history, he joins 100 other men ordained in the United States since the Pastoral Provision was established, including a Deacon and Presbyter-elect who serves our Diocese now. We look forward to a future with Father Easley as he offers the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and administers the Sacraments according to the discipline of the Roman Catholic Church, as he will be a validly ordained Roman Catholic Priest of the Roman Catholic Church.”

A native of Memphis, Tennessee, Rev. Easley earned a Master of Divinity degree from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary in Massachusetts. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in literature and writing from Wheaton College in Chicago, Illinois.
His family, which includes wife Leah and daughter Magdalena, have been parishioners of Sainte Marie Parish in Manchester since moving to New Hampshire in 2021.

Reverend Easley celebrated his first Mass of Thanksgiving at Sainte Marie Parish on Feb. 23.

The Diocese of Manchester currently has 10 men preparing for the priesthood at seminaries in Brighton, Massachusetts; Weston, Massachusetts; Providence, Rhode Island; and Saint Meinrad, Indiana.
