WINDSOR, VT– Steven M. Bennett passed away Saturday March 1 at Genesis in Lebanon. He was 74. Steve was born on December 29, 1950 the son of Leland (Lee) and Virginia (Ginny) Bennett in Windsor, VT.
He attended Stevens High School and later served in both the Job Corps and the Marines.
He loved to prank people and he used to hide under his sister’s bed, patiently waiting for her to fall asleep, so he could reach up and grab her. He was hateful. All that knew Steve will remember his amazing sense of humor and practical jokes. He loved fast vehicles including a 1969 Superbee, a Harley Davidson and a snowmobile all driven way too fast. He was a charter member of the Freelancers Motorcycle Club.
He loved animals having several cats and a ferret.
He was known to have a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. One sneeze and the needles would fall off. He loved the holidays. He loved to hunt and fish and was frequently at the Ottauquechee River.
He is survived by his sisters, Sue White (Claremont), Shelley Parkhurst (Charlestown) and Stacee Theroux (Claremont), his son, Steven G. Bennett, granddaughter Bethany, grandson, Jacob Bennett and great grandchildren, Cam Bennett, Ezkiel, and Mia Rosales. Steve is also survived by nephews, nieces and cousins.
No services will be held. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
